On the day of the procedure, a semen sample is collected and processed in our laboratory to isolate and concentrate the most motile sperm. The prepared sperm sample is then loaded into a thin, flexible catheter and gently inserted through the cervix into the uterus. The procedure takes only a few minutes, is generally well tolerated, and does not require sedation. A pregnancy test is typically performed approximately two weeks after the procedure.
